Dein Brunnen für Münster
With „Dein Brunnen für Münster“ the citizens of the city of Münster set a sign for peace, tolerance and diversity.

The Skulptur Projekte 2017 in Münster were a great success with the public, but also in the international perception. The work „Sketch for a Fountain“ by New York artist Nicole Eisenman received particular attention and popularity. People of all generations gathered here to linger, to discover, to exchange ideas. But also to discuss controversial issues. In response to homophobic and anti-Semitic smearings on the work of art, the initiators of „Dein Brunnen für Münster e.V.“ spontaneously came together to reacquire this important work of art with the help of all Münster citizens and to preserve it permanently for Münster.
In response to homophobic and anti-Semitic smearings on the artwork, the initiators of „Dein Brunnen für Münster e.V.“ spontaneously came together.
In a unique way, since 2017 only a handful and now more than 10,000 citizens have committed themselves to the return of the artwork and thus declared their support for diversity, tolerance and a peaceful coexistence of people of all origins, genders and sexual orientations. Everyone is still expressly welcome to get involved through personal commitment and/or financial support

The artist plays with the tradition of fountains: She does not let the water flow out of the classical ‚openings‘ of the figures.
